EXCLUSIVE EXPERIENCES
Set in a land of classical ruins, azure seas and olive groves on the coast of the Peloponnese, Villa Victory is ideally placed for exploring the region’s rich culture, cuisine and natural attractions. Discover nearby Porto Heli and the water adventures organized by Villa Victory, including kayaking, diving, snorkelling and water skiing.
Ancient ruins
The wealth of nearby archaeological sites includes Epidaurus with its Unesco-protected amphitheatre and the Sanctuary of Asklepios – the most renowned healing centre of the ancient world. The legendary citadel of Mycenae, the ancient capital of Nafplion, the village of Didyma, the Temple of Hera close to Argos, the Byzantine monastery of St Dimitrios and many other sites also rest in close proximity to the Villa.
Epidaurus Festival
The Epidaurus Festival is the most important Greek festival of ancient drama that takes place every year during the summer months in the amphitheatre of Epidaurus, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Built in the fourth century BCE, the amphitheatre is remarkably well preserved. With capacity for 15,000, it is still host to live performances every summer, under the light of the full moon, which is a unique experience.
Water sports
Kayak explorations are a unique way to discover Porto Heli. It is a great activity thanks to the shallow waters of the area, especially for those who want to paddle and relax on the beaches or simply swim with a mask and snorkel. You can also do many other water activities – such as diving, windsurf sailing, wakeboarding, water skiing, as well as jet skiing – which are truly a unique experience.
Island Hopping
While the mainland is stunning, the Porto Heli experience isn’t complete without a trip to the islands of Spetses and Hydra. The island of Spetses, only 6 minutes away by water taxi, offers not only an inspiring past, but also natural beauty. It is cosmopolitan yet traditional – an enchanting combination of quaint streets, pine forests and local charm with reminders of its rich history around every corner. As for Hydra, it’s a living museum of an island, and is 30 minutes away by taxi and boat across the narrow straits. Both have been inspirational homes for many international artists, poets and musicians.
